Independent Social Worker

Due to expansion WillisPalmer are looking to recruit Independent Social Workers across the United Kingdom. We are in the process of developing new projects and as a consequence need creative, innovative and flexible individuals with at least seven years post qualifying social work experience to join us.  We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience in the following areas:

  • Parenting assessments
  • Hold the PAMS accreditation
  • Mental health and domestic violence specialist services
  • Trainers who deliver courses on a broad range of subjects related to children and families
  • Domestic violence and/or sexual abuse

Our Registration Process

Our registration process comprises of four stages and is extremely thorough which helps us to determine whether we are a good fit for you and if you are a good fit for us.

Stage 1

Once we have received your CV we will check that you meet our selection criteria, and if so, we will contact you to arrange a suitable time for a telephone interview. If we then decide to progress your registration to Stage 2 we will ask you to send all of your compliance documentation to us at that point.

Stage 2

Once in receipt of all of your compliance documentation we will invite you to a group event via Zoom. The purpose of the group event is for you to understand the WillisPalmer vision, the types of services we provide and gives you the chance to tell us more about yourself.

Stage 3

Following the group event we will then invite you to an individual meeting via Zoom to clarify what type of work you are interested in undertaking. It’s also a perfect opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

Stage 4

If we decide you are a good fit for us we will then finalise our compliance process and issue you with a contract, which sets out our relationship.

Joining WillisPalmer is free and you have no obligation to take a prescribed amount of work – it’s up to you!

Essential Requirements

When applying please make sure you meet the minimum criteria detailed below and remember all applications are subject to interview and checks:

  • Must be registered as a limited company, or with a UK based umbrella company (we cannot work with sole traders)
  • have a track record of exceptional, high-quality work.
  • be fluent in English.

In addition:

  • Social Workers must have a minimum of seven years post qualification experience, a degree or diploma in social work and all regulatory documents.
  • Psychologists must have a minimum of seven years post qualification experience, a practising certificate and all regulatory documents.
  • Psychiatrists must have a minimum of seven years post qualification experience an MBChB, MD or equivalent and all regulatory documents.
  • Family Support Workers must have experience in working with children and families identified at level 3-4 on the Continuum of Need.
