Cafcass warns, the number of care order applications continues to fall, according to official statistics.
There were 1,087 care order applications in August 2019 which is 11.5% lower than August 2018 when 1,179 care orders were made.
In the previous month July, 1,225 care order applications were made. This was up from June 2019 when 1,021 care applications were made.
Last year April 2018- March 2019 13,563 care order applications were made - a significant reduction from 2016-17 when the annual total was 14,599 care orders.
The previous director of children's services at Bexley council Jacky Tiotto started work at Cafcass in September as its new Chief Executive and pledged to put children at the centre of its work.
Jacky Tiotto takes over from Anthony Douglas who took Cafcass on an improvement journey from being judged by Ofsted to be inadequate in 2009 to outstanding in 2018.
