Dr Sharon Shoesmith is to address our Virtual Social Work event next week on the theme of our #Respect4SocialWork campaign to coincide with Social Work Week.
#Respect4SocialWork, backed by former children’s minister Tim Loughton, BASW, Dr Ray Jones and assistant professor Nushra Mansuri, urges greater respect for the social work profession and a more balanced view of social workers in the national media.
Dr Shoesmith, author of ‘Learning from Baby P – the politics of blame, fear and denial’, is supporting #Respect4SocialWork and is addressing a Virtual Event held on 17 March at 11am to coincide with Social Work Week.
If you would like to attend and hear from Dr Shoesmith before the discussion is opened up, all you have to do is ‘Join the Pledge’ on the #Respect4SocialWork campaign page to show you support the campaign then email Clare Jerrom for the link to attend the event on 17 March.
As with anything, we can only make change for the better if we have many people standing alongside us in the campaign.
