Pets WFH

Lockdown measures have meant that thousands more people are working from home. And while it may be challenging for the workers, it can be somewhat disruptive for the pets who usually rule the roost while their humans are out at work.

I’m a veteran home worker having worked from home for over 10 years to varying degrees so my cat, Marmite, is used to having me around. It means he gets more than his quota of pouches per day and if he hears the fridge door open he’s there expecting some sort of meaty/fishy treat.

When I worked in London, many a time I’d have a furry paw on my laptop or Marmite sprawled out across my notes, taking none too kindly to me attempting to move him.

Since we moved out of London and have a bit more space, he hasn’t been quite as keen to get involved in my work. But what is new to him at the moment is having three children at home aswell as schools are closed to all but vulnerable or key workers’ children. And I can’t say he’s necessarily sold on the idea… which means more often than not he will make a hasty retreat to my office which the children know to avoid.

It seems Marmite isn’t the only animal adjusting. Take at look at these pets working from home.
