The impact of mental illness on parenting capacity
The aim of this course is to allow participants to understand the link between symptoms of mental illness, parental behaviour and the impact of such behaviour on children.
The course will examine the key principles in assessing the impact of mental illness on parenting capacity. Attendees will develop skills in talking with children about the impact of parental mental illness on their day-to-day circumstances.
During the course, Gretchen Precey will review best practice in multi-agency assessment and intervention for parents with mental illness, and explore behaviour and beliefs about mental illness by gender and culture.
The day will begin at 9.30am for registration and tea / coffee, with a prompt 10.00am start, the course will end at approx 4.00pm
