Our Family Support service for local authorities and courts is a key intervention aimed at keeping families together, improving parenting capacity, improving children and young people's behaviour and preventing children from entering the care system.
Family Support Workers
WillisPalmer provides excellent highly skilled family support workers for instructions from local authorities and the courts. Where children are at risk and involved in gangs, knife crime, anti-social behaviour and crime, family support workers can be utilised to work alongside a young person, helping them to act in a more positive manner, perhaps helping them to engage or re-engage in education, employment or training. The family support worker can encourage the young person to engage in positive activities such as sport to take them away from their previous negative and sometimes criminal behaviour in a bid to prevent them being caught up in the youth justice system.
Reliable and experienced support workers
We have a team of reliable and experienced family support workers available. They all have experience in working directly with families in crisis with complex issues and challenges such as learning difficulties, drug and alcohol misuse, domestic abuse, mental health concerns, or where a child is at risk of entering the care system.
We provide emotional and practical support to families in need. This includes listening, advice, advocacy, assistance in accessing local services such as food parcels, support groups and play activities. We provide continuous support to families for as long as required, allowing them to get back on their feet.
Bespoke assistance
Our support workers provide one-to-one, intensive help to children and their families throughout the UK, plus a range of group support and structured play activities. Our family support workers are available for set periods and longer-term support too.
Please note that our family support workers do not provide direct transportation for children nor their families. Support can be provided via public transport or via private transportation arranged by the commissioning organisation.
WillisPalmer Quality Assurance
WillisPalmer exists to promote and protect the welfare of children. We believe that a rigorous quality assurance process is central to this aim. Therefore we invest heavily in a robust system to ensure reports are comprehensive, focused on the needs of the child and provide a detailed response to instructions.
