Preparation for JAR

Joint Area Reviews are having a major impact upon local authorities. We have extensive managerial and quality assurance expertise in children's services that we can share in order to help you prepare for your JAR. We provide a team of experienced Consultants to work with you in advance of your inspection and at the conclusion of the work we make available an assessment report and action plan. In addition, following JAR we are able to help implement any recommendations arising from the review.

Audit and Quality Assurance

We can assist organisations to ensure practice standards are maintained through audit and inspection. We believe in working closely with managers and practitioners in order to evaluate and quality assure all aspects of services to children and families. We have particular expertise in safeguarding and looked after children services. Our Consultants have experience within social care, health, education and the independent sector.

Risk Assessment in relation to allegations of child abuse by a professional

Direct Assessment

In situations where allegations have been made against an individual employee regarding behaviour deemed as a potential risk to children, we aloe able to assess their suitability to work with young people and make appropriate recommendations. We have highly experienced risk assessors with many years experience in child protection. We have particular skills in situations where there are concerns about sexual risk to children. This includes evaluation of inappropriate Internet use by employees.

Consultancy & Allegation Management

We are also ab le to offer managers and Designated Officers advice and guidance from an early stage about the process of undertaking such assessments; whether they are appropriate and if so the best way forward. Involving us at an early stage ensures the process is fair to the employee and more likely to produce an outcome that safeguards children.

Performance Management, Supervision & Consultancy

Our Consultants are available to undertake specific performance reviews either in respect of individual workers or teams; providing an independent review of practice. Our expertise also allows us to work closely with teams in order to provide team or management supervision.

Training and Development

Our expertise enables us to plan and facilitate seminars, workshops or training sessions in response to those needs identified by our partner agencies. These sessions can be based either upon practice or organisational aspects of children's service delivery.
