Family Intervention Service
WillisPalmer has developed a new family intervention service for local authorities. The service is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
We can provide a range of support services in respect of children in need – working with the family to prevent breakdown; child protection – supporting parents to safeguard their children; and looked after children – supporting placements.
Services are delivered by experienced qualified social workers, therapists and family intervention practitioners.
Children in Need
- Advice, guidance and emotional support for parents and their children
- Helping parents manage their children’s challenging behaviour
- Helping parents relate to their children through play
- Practical support and help in the family home with budgeting, routines and domestic management
- Supporting families in accessing community resources
Child Protection
- Out of hours support in high risk cases
- Support for families where there are substance misuse or mental health problems
- Family interventions and therapy
- Relationship counselling
- Assessment of attachment and children’s developmental needs
- Contributing to child protection plans through home visits
Looked After Children
- Supporting foster placements and children in residential care
- Supervision of contact
- Providing respite for carers
- Mentoring and support for care leavers
- Advocacy and support
