Penny McKenna

I am a highly experienced social worker and manager with many years experience working for local authority child care teams. I have a good understanding of professional & organisational issues, including in-depth knowledge of social services legislation and legal procedures, with the ability to work independently, be supportive of colleagues & work within a team/organisation. My current (substantive) post includes supervisory responsibilities. I am also commissioned as an Independent Social Worker where I am able to undertake a range of court related assessments and provide reports. I have developed particular expertise in special guardianship assessments. In addition I have skills in assessment where the followng are prominent; parental mental health issues and learning disability; drugs and alcohol issues including foetal alcohol syndrome; asylum and immigration and youth offending.
