I am an experienced social worker with over 29 years post qualification experience. I have been a self-employed Guardian for approximately 12 years. I have undertaken independent social work assessments of parents, including parents with substance abuse, and extended family members for local authorities and for court.

I have had a particular interest in locating and assessing extended family members as alternative placements for children. I have undertaken assessments of families, including families living in Armenia, Georgia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Ireland for the courts.

In addition, I work part-time for a local authority as a team manager responsible for adoption support and contact. I act as a consultant on care planning for children requiring plans for permanency

I am involved in the mentoring and training of Guardians and social workers in care planning issues and in undertaking post qualification academic awards.
