Katherine Drake

I am an independent social worker, children’s guardian and child and family counsellor with over 30 years experience in social work, the last 13 years as a self employed children’s guardian and independent social worker, working throughout London. I have also been a manager and practitioner, specialising in fostering and adoption; in particular inter-country assessments, the placement of teenagers and direct work with families. I also undertake Child and Family Counselling, direct work with children and young people, including life story work, youth advocacy and adoption/placement preparation work and Adult counselling. My interests and skills are: child focussed assessment of family members and other carers [e.g. grandparents, foster carers, adoption applicants]; child protection and legal work; social work consultancy, supervision and mentoring; able to undertake assessments and direct work within limited timescales.
