Helen James

I have undertaken work as an independent social work consultant regularly over the last sixteen years, including the undertaking of assessments, preparation of reports for courts as an expert witness, and management enquiries. I have worked as a Children’s Guardian in both Norfolk and Suffolk since 1991.

I belong to the Independent Child Care Advisory Service. I have been involved in accredited Law Society Training of solicitors wishing to apply for the Children Panel, and other training delivery since 1991. I am a council member of NAGALRO, the Professional Association of Family Court Advisors and Independent Social Work Consultants.

I currently undertake complex assessments within family proceedings including parental risk assessments; kinship carer and viability assessments and individual assessment of children’s needs.
