Eric Dooley

As an experienced qualified social worker, children's guardian, and freelance trainer and lecturer, I have considerable experience in working with children and their families, young people and adults from all backgrounds.I work independently undertaking assessments of parenting; kinship and adoption and fostering assessments.I consider my race, gender and cultural background an additional advantage when working with African Caribbean families.My professional experience includes:- Gathering and analysing information about children and their families; Assess the capabilities of parents and extended families to safeguard children’s welfare; Direct Work with children and young people to establish their wishes and feelings; Direct intervention including counseling, mediation, and advice; Analysis of findings and providing written reports to courts and commissioning agencies; Observing contact I relationship and dynamics between children and their families; Assessing prospective foster carers with particular emphasis on the relationship between such applicants and their own children; Writing and presenting a range of training material to LA, Social Services Departments, Local Educational Institutes and Private and Voluntary Agencies; Providing written and oral evidence to the court in Public and Private Law proceedings.
