Catherine
Devereaux-Evans
I am an Independent Social Worker and Children’s Guardian with sixteen years experience undertaking assessments in the Court arena. I have worked as a Children’s Guardian since 1990, initially part time but since 1999, full time. In addition I spent nine years in a deputy manager post based at Barnardo’s Counseling Services Project where I specialised in post adoption, counseling, research, reunions and Guardian work.
Most of my work has been within London and therefore the work has encompassed significant contact with children and families form a wide range of cultural, racial and religious backgrounds.
I have a particular interest in undertaking kinship assessments and assessments of parenting capacity within the context of care proceedings. I have also developed expertise in working directly with children in my role as a Children’s Guardian.
