Andre Palmer

I am a qualified Social Worker with ten years experience of working with children and families. I provide services to children, young people and parents, providing assessments and therapeutic interventions in relation to a range of presenting difficulties. I have previous experience with Essex Social Services including a Senior Social Worker post within a Child Protection Team. I also have five years experience of working for the NSPCC in Essex, both as a practitioner and team manager, working with children and young people who display sexually harmful or inappropriate sexual behaviour. I have worked as an independent Social Worker for the last five years. My particular theoretical interests lie in applied family systemic theory and its application to a range of family based difficulties.

I am Co-Director of WillisPalmer, an independent agency providing assessment and therapy services. WillisPalmer is commissioned by solicitors, Local Authorities and independent agencies. I have practiced as an Independent Social Work Consultant for the past five years. My experience in working directly with children and families spans eight years encompassing work within the Statutory and Voluntary sector. This experience includes both assessments of risk and treatment need as well as providing long term individual treatment and group work interventions. I was also commissioned by NCH (Suffolk) to devise and co-facilitate a group work program for male adolescent victims of sexual abuse.

I have provided training to others within the professional field, including Essex ACPC Conferences, Essex Youth Offending Service and to PQCCA students at the University of East Anglia. My interest in this field of work has extended to contributions both locally and nationally in terms of policy and procedural developments within the NSPCC.
